Before you make your portrait
Make your pet the subject of a birthday picture, whether you are celebrating their own birthday or creating an image for a card to someone who loves them. Start with one clear photo and choose the scene that feels right for the occasion.
The cake options put the celebration into the portrait. The pastel balloon scene shows more of the seated pet, with a small cake in the foreground. Look at the actual previews before choosing: generated decorations and lettering are part of the scene and cannot be edited as separate text fields in PetImage.
For the best starting photo, keep the full face and ears in frame. Avoid a picture where a toy or existing party hat hides the eyes. The template adds its own celebration scene; your pet does not need to sit beside a real cake.
PetImage makes a digital picture. To turn it into a complete greeting card, download it, place it in a card layout in a separate design tool and add your own message. Our birthday guide walks through that workflow. For multiple pets, create separate portraits and arrange them outside PetImage.
A few useful details
Can I add my pet’s name or birthday age?
PetImage does not currently include a text editor. Add names, ages and messages to the downloaded image in a separate design tool. Generated lettering may be inaccurate.
Is this for my pet’s birthday or a card from my pet?
The picture can be used for either. Choose a celebration image for your pet, or use their portrait in a card for a person and add your own message afterward.
Can I download a folded, print-ready birthday card?
You receive a digital image, not a folded PDF or a mailed card. Check the image dimensions, choose a card layout and follow your printer’s requirements.
Can I try a birthday portrait for free?
Your first portrait is free with an account; email sign-ups require verification. No card is required. Additional generations use credits.
