Before you make your portrait
Creating a pet portrait used to mean hiring an artist, providing reference photos, waiting weeks, and paying hundreds of dollars. PetImage offers a photo-to-portrait workflow in three steps.
Step one: upload a photo of your pet. Any clear photo works — smartphone snapshots, professional shots, or candid moments. Clear lighting, an unobstructed face and a simple background are useful starting points.
Step two: choose a style. Browse curated artistic templates organized by category: painting styles (watercolor, oil painting), character styles (cartoon, anime, Ghibli), costume styles (royal, Victorian), and seasonal themes (birthday, holiday).
Step three: download your portrait. Most high-resolution results are ready within a few minutes for printing, sharing, or gifting.
The key advantage of working from photos is flexibility. You can create multiple portraits from the same photo in different styles, or use different photos to capture different moods of your pet.
A few useful details
What kind of pet photo should I upload?
A well-lit photo with your pet facing the camera works best. The photo should be at least 500x500 pixels. Both JPEG and PNG formats are accepted, with a maximum file size of 5MB.
Can I use old or low-quality photos?
The AI works best with clear, reasonably sharp photos. Very blurry or extremely dark photos may produce lower-quality results. Choose the sharpest available photo with a recognizable face.
How many styles can I try with one photo?
You can reuse a photo with any currently available template. Each new generation uses one credit; the creator shows your balance before you begin.
